A few Pre-Tea Explanations

What is on a tea tray?

Brittish custom dictates scones be
served with three condiments:
Lemon Curd
Clotted Cream
Jam
We Americans love emulating our Brittish cousins, so we also serve these treats with our scones (a kind of sweet biscuit)

Lemon Curd is very much like the basic lemon filling used in lemon meringue pie
Clotted cream is very much like slightly sweet sour cream
Jam is good and we know what that is!

Instructions on the correct way to eat a scone...
1) split in half
2) put a dollop of clotted cream on each half
3) now, add a dollop of lemon curd
4) finally, add a dollop of jam
Enjoy while sipping on a steaming cup of delicious tea!
Now you are ready to enjoy the first course of an Afternoon Tea!
